Sharon Marie Wright

I am a professional photographer specializing in dolls.

I picked up a couple Emmy awards for writing/producing short format movies, been acknowledged for my acting and even got an attendance award at school once.

I live in Los Angeles, migrated here from my hometown of Grandview, MO.  (Go Bulldogs)

I love footed pajamas, Lifesaver Pep-O-Mints and stupid cat videos.  I have a pet pig and no, they do not stay small and you do not want one.

As far as my personal blog goes, everyone has had some sort of shit in their lives, I'm just documenting mine.  If you like it, great.  If not, I don't give a shit.

Awkward Family Photos - "Garron" Style

Life is rarely boring around here!  Gary and I have talked about doing this for a couple of years and we finally commited to doing it this year.

Gary spent a couple of months growing out a massive amount of facial hair, we hit up the thrift stores and vintage shops around Los Angeles and we booked the studio.

Of course, I mainly shoot very small subjects and lighting people isn't really my expertise so it was a challenge - as well as shooting ourselves on a timer, lol.

We did have a fantastic time doing it all though - obviously.

I also included a gallery with some of the ones we didn't use (yet) but that I liked. How do you think they should be photoshopped? I'm sure there are a million crazy ways to use them ;)

After Ever After

Things don't always have a happy ending

Doll: Superdoll Freize
Shout out to Chynadoll Creations who made all the food props. They are way better than trash but worked nicely for this purpose :)

Of course, our cat Mongo always has to get in the action. Usually I make sure he's inside if I go out to shoot but he was sneaky this time and came up on me without warning. He always has to be right where I'm trying to focus at, lol.  After he got ran off from where I was trying to shoot, he decided to annoy me by trying to fit in the box lid I used to bring out all my props. He wishes he was that small! Silly cat was spilling out all over the place in it.

He's a big 14lb goofball (but the best cat in the history of ever)

When you receive a 1/6 scale seamless male doll from Phicen, and he comes with 3 detachable penises and no head, well...your imagination runs a bit wild.

I'll let you guess how you stick them on.

I'll let you guess how you stick them on.

I made a Rey

Holy crap - I got crafty! I am not an overly crafty person, even though I'd like to be but I hate cleaning up the mess. Yes, I'm lazy like that - oh well.

Moving on...

She's obviously not screen accurate - so don't bother emailing me to point out all the things I did wrong. Get over it. She is, however, representative of all the little girls who play dress up and dream of being a hero. Believe it or not, we don't all want to be pretty little princesses, many of us prefer to be able to take care of ourselves and maybe even save the world. (Shocking, I know)

I used a Makies doll I already had. If you aren't familiar with Makies you should really check them out. You can completely customize and build your own doll. You customize the entire face, select the hair, eyes, outfits, etc. They 3D print your design and ship it to you. You can easily create your own little "mini me"!  (This is not a paid advertisement - but you should still totally check them out). I should also mention, she was repainted by my daughter, this is not her original "face" by the company. Everything else was just stuff I had laying around the house. The shoes were from Integrity Toys. I got them over a year ago and never bothered to open the package - only to find out now that I have 2 right shoes. Bummer, but not the end of the world - she is a hero after all ;)

Jake Gyllenhaal explores his feminine side - You can't unsee this (NSFW)

you're welcome.

It was too perfect - I couldn't resist.  Now I'm off to gather more and do a whole series! Stay tuned ;)

This is a Hot Toys Jake Gyllenhaal on a Phicen body.  Personally, I think he looks a lot like Paul Walker.  What do you think?

Skinning a Sex Doll (NSFW)

I can't throw her in the trash, she wouldn't fit any way.  I can't just set her out on the curb - I really like our neighborhood and would like to continue to live here without being looked at as "the freaky neighbors". I'm sure as hell not going to put her on Craigslist and invite people over to examine her wares.

I'll just skin the bitch.

That's a logical solution.

Zombies + Dolls = Your Worst Nightmare

For many people, what I do as a doll photographer is creepy enough. But this - this just went to a whole new level of OMG!  Combine innocent looking dolls and give them a Walking Dead makeover...ya, you might want to sleep with the lights on after this.

Holy shit I had fun with these!  As a photographer it's such a blast when a client tells you to just have fun and do what you do - so that's exactly what I did!

Mombie & Son are the artistic team that created these OOAK (one of a kind) resin BJD dolls, and yes, you can actually own one  (or all) of them to terrorize your own home.  Hi, my name is Sharon and I am an enabler.

sleep tight....

Marty McFly returns To Hill Valley

Taking a look at Hot Toys 1/6 scale Marty McFly and visiting some of the locations where Back To The Future was shot

As always, Sideshow leaves nothing out and their attention to detail is outstanding.  We absolutely can't wait for them to do a whole line - or at the very least we need a Doc Brown!

Marty's house is located at 9303 Roslyndale Avenue in Arletta, CA.  (Note: this is a private residence.  Please do not disturb the owners or trespass onto the property)

"Hill Valley High School" is an actual high school, Whittier High School, located at 12417 E. Philadelphia St., in Whittier, CA.

Doc Browns house is The Gamble Housea 1908 Craftsman home designed by famed architects Greene & Greene. It's located at 4 Westmoreland Place, in Pasadena, CA

A Girl, Two Cats, and a Pig, OH MY!

The Bestest Of Friends

I get comments all the time that she looks like me, lol.  What do you think?  I guess if I was going to have a permanent 3 or 4 year old, she wouldn't be an awful one to have I suppose. Thankfully, my baby days are long behind me ;)

Dolls Who Play With Dolls

I loved the idea of taking a "sex doll" and using her in a completely non-sexual way.  When Boy Toy Dolls offered to let me borrow one of their girls I jumped at the chance.

I know you are all dying to know.  She's 5' tall, about 70lbs, fully articulated like a human and, yes, she is anatomically correct.  I am not a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but I have to admit, it was a little awkward getting her dressed, lol.

Play With Me aka Fifty Shades of Plastic

Do you shoot Barbie porn?

When people hear I shoot dolls, immediately they think Barbie dolls and right after that, they talk about all the things Barbie used to do with Ken, GI Joe, other Barbies, etc.  That is what people assume I do all day.

Well, I rarely actually shoot Barbies, typically it is more along the lines of Fashion Royalty dolls by Integrity Toys but that's not the point.  I wanted to challenge myself to see if I could make them erotic in a tasteful sort of way.

I was greatly inspired by a short film I'd seen that was made for GQ Spain, deeply erotic and not about fashion one bit ;) (Though he did wear a nice suit)  So, I used that as my jumping point.

The entire photo series was set to music and made into a short video which you can see here. (I wouldn't watch around small kids or work, even though it's just dolls)

Here are a selection of shots from that project.
